Self Defense for Women

The classes are for women 16 years of age and older and designed to provide basic  techniques used in hostile situations.

Information and techniques will be offered in 3 modules consisting of 9 sessions.

Module I - Hostile Approaches and Strike Defense - 3 sessions;
Module II - Choke and Grab Defense - 4 sessions;
Module III - Pining Defense - 2 sessions.

Participants are encouraged to attend all session. Class size is limited. Early registration is required.

Gentle Moves

Gentle Moves is an exercise program designed to increase flexibility, improve balance, and develop strength and endurance. Sessions start with relaxation and mild stretching exercises. Participants are guided through a series of slow, fluid upper and lower body movements. Gentle Moves incorporates elements of yoga, Tai Chi and other non-combat martial arts.

Class size will be limited. Early registration encouraged.

TRX Pilates

This class wil incorporate Pilates principles with straps as a Full body Pilates workout cardio, strength, and balance training along with the muscles.

Swing Class - - Golf Swing!

March 16, 23, 30 and April 6

BodyFit is teaming up with Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club’s golf pro, Brenda Mayer, to offer “Swing Class”. Not to be confused with swing dance, this unique class is all about your golf swing!

April will be here before we know it and the ole’ golf swing may need some oil! Brenda is offering a great way to start the golf season off the right way—an indoor swing class. This class will include full swing instruction, swing drills and visual reinforcement with mirrors. The class is great for all levels of golfers.

The class begins this Saturday, March 16 and will be held at 9:00am every Saturday through April 6. The class will be held at BodyFit, located in the old firehouse in White Stone.  Participants must wear tennis shoes and bring a seven iron.

Pre-registration is required and the class size is limited. The cost is $80.00 and limited spaces are available. For more information and to register please call Brenda at 435-1250.

Kristen Blackwell will be leading a free dance fitness class at BodyFit on Thursday, March 7th at 9am. This class is free to the community. Guests should arrive 15 minutes early to sign in.

Blackwell is joining the BodyFit team as a dance and group exercise instructor. She is a certified group exercise instructor and personal trainer. “Kristen is a well known and loved instructor in our community. She specializes in teaching fitness and dance classes and she teaches students of all experience levels.” said Ramona Darden, owner of BodyFit. “She enjoys sharing her passion of dance and fitness with others. You’ll leave her classes feeling energized and ready for more!”
